On Monday, Aug. 14, Life Care Centers of America honored Rob Lorenzo, executive director at Lake Forest Nursing Center in Lake Forest, California, with one of two President’s Awards for its Southwest Division.
The President’s Award, given during Life Care’s annual management meeting at its headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee, recognizes distinguished service in long-term health care. The Southwest Division includes 23 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Arizona, California and Nevada.
Lorenzo was praised for his commitment to customer service, as well as his leadership in stewardship and clinical operations. He led Lake Forest Nursing Center to achieve five stars in quality measures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Lorenzo leads in-services on customer service each quarter and gets to know all of his associates, even hand-writing birthday cards and mailing them to their homes.
“Rob is a ‘roll-up-your-sleeves’ kind of leader who is seen answering call lights, changing bed linens and helping do what needs to get done,” said Sam Magtanong, vice president of Life Care’s California facilities. “I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with and learn from Rob.”
“Rob Lorenzo has demonstrated professional skill and compassion in dispatching his responsibilities to the associates, residents and families he serves,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “He has uniquely demonstrated a leadership style for others to emulate. This is a distinguished award to receive because it goes to the heart of our mission.”
Fifteen President’s Awards are presented annually to leaders of overall successful facilities or organizations within Life Care.
